ABOUT TAOS
Taos, New Mexico, is a vibrant town in the north-central part of the state, nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Known for its stunning landscapes, Taos offers a unique mix of natural beauty, rich history, and artistic culture. The area is perhaps most famous for Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America, where adobe structures have stood for over a thousand years. Outdoor enthusiasts are drawn to Taos Ski Valley in the winter and to the Rio Grande Gorge for rafting, hiking, and photography year-round. The town’s high desert climate delivers crisp mountain air, dramatic sunsets, and a slower pace that attracts both visitors and new residents seeking inspiration and tranquility.
Culturally, Taos has long been a haven for artists, writers, and creatives. The Taos art colony emerged in the late 19th century, and today the town boasts numerous galleries, studios, and museums, including the Harwood Museum of Art and the Millicent Rogers Museum. Annual events, like the Taos Winter Wine Festival and the Taos Pueblo Powwow, celebrate local heritage and community spirit.

Why We Love Taos
We love Taos for its stunning natural beauty and endless adventure. The mountains rise dramatically on one side, the Rio Grande Gorge cuts through the desert on the other, and the light here seems to make every sunrise and sunset a masterpiece. It’s a place where you can ski in the morning, explore an art gallery in the afternoon, and watch the stars in skies so dark they take your breath away. Taos invites you to slow down, soak in its charm, and live in harmony with both nature and culture—something rare and deeply special.
