Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS)
The district serves roughly 11,700–11,800 K–12 students across around 30–31 schools, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
Most schools now hold a “traditional” or “spotlight” designation, up from previously needing improvement—the district has shown real growth in recent years.
In 2023–24, SFPS surpassed statewide averages in reading proficiency (~40% vs. NM’s ~38%) for the first time. Math proficiency and other metrics also showed steady year-over-year growth.
Graduation rates are strong, hovering around 83–84%, significantly above New Mexico’s state average (~66–77%).
